Leslie & Justin

Yesterday Marty and I were at Falls Park agian...but this time it wasn't for a portrait session - it was a wedding. The weather was fabulous and you could definitely feel that Fall was in the air! Before the ceremony we had plenty of time for portraits so Leslie and her girls had a little bit of fun to pass some time away!

I couldn't get over how great the color of their dresses and flowers were. They look fabulous!
The three flower girls did a great job and were cute as a button! Leslie's dad walking her down the aisle. It isn't very often that we have so much room to move around during a ceremony. I took full advantage of it and snuck around up top for a few shots.
Not sure what it is with my fascination with lighting here lately, but the sun was perfect for me to play around with it!!!!
After the ceremony, we had some group shots before everyone headed up to the reception. I stayed with Leslie and Justin to get some shots of them together walking through the park.
I loved the sun across Justin's back!
I was laying in the road hoping and praying that a car didn't come up the hill and not see me laying there.
I'm lucky I got up when I did....you can barely see a skateboarder in this one....right as he passed me he hit a rock and about ate the asphalt.
I was laughing so hard I could barely get my breath - luckily we stopped to take one more shot before heading over the bridge to Saffron's.
With Leslie being from Tennesse and Justin being a South Carolina guy, there is definitely some rivalry between these two! One cake for the Vols fans and one cake for the Gamecock fans....and the wedding cake with colors of each!!!!!
The rings!A little fun with the wedding bands. The cake cutting was a tad messy! I was happy to see Justin's grandmother with all the single girls for the bouquet toss! And the rivalry continues as Justin finds Leslie wearing a Tennesse garter!!!!!
Um, I'm not sure we've ever had a guy model the garter quite like this before! The beautiful bride with her girlfriends!
The lighting at Saffron's Wrought Iron Hall was gorgeous.....white lights and candles everywhere. I loved all the candles hanging from the ceiling! Everyone had a great time dancing and singing!!!!! Leslie and Justin - thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your special (and perfect) day! We had a great time and a lot of laughs with you and your friends and family!!!!!

Sally & Zac

This past weekend was yet another double wedding weekend for us. This time it was Friday and Saturday. Friday weddings are becoming more popular these days, but Sally picked the day based on my schedule and availability because she wanted me to shoot her wedding.....so I wasn't sure whether I should be flattered or very nervous! However, when I got there, it just felt sort of like I was around family in a way. Four of the people there were clients of mine....three of them I've shot more than one session for. So needless to say even though that was the first time I had actually met Sally, it felt like I had known her for a while! It was very strange for me being at a wedding with so many people there I knew...but strange in a good way! The wedding was held at a house in Easley and I don't think it could have been more perfect...not even the dress!

I love hanging jars with candles.
Although she was a little stressed and worried to start with, it didn't take long for a permanent smile to appear on Sally's face.
I can't say the same thing for Desi though!
The gorgeous bride!
Still smiling....

Ethan was really excited to be in the wedding!
The weather was nice....a breeze blowing...
blue skies....
But in the middle of formals a rain shower came through. Thankfully we were at a house that had a covered porch big enough for us to continue with pictures! Sally and the girls all looked so pretty!
Once we were done it had pretty much stopped raining so we headed around back to join the rest of the guests at the reception. The first dance.
The very yummy cake from The Purple Kitchen.
Normally the ring shot I post on here has both rings in it but this one is a little different. Sally's ring was made from her dad's wedding band....it was melted down and had diamonds added to it. I thought that was so sweet and very unique so I had to get a few shots of her ring by itself.
Finally...the groom! It seems the women were putting money in a basket to dance with him....not sure that Zac knew what else would come along with the dancing!
But, it wasn't long before Theresa cut in for her dance with him!
Now, here's a tip for the groom's out there. During the cake cutting....please remember that us girls only need a small (note the word SMALL) bite of cake...not the whole piece in our mouth!!!!
After the cake cutting I was able to get Zac and Sally away for some portraits by themselves.
I don't think Sally knew she was going to be tromping into the woods but she didn't seem to mind at all. I loved the light coming through the trees and hesitated to ask her, but she didn't care. I have to admit...this is my favorite shot of the day!
As nightfall began, the lights and candles were perfect!
Zac...still dancing with the ladies!
The DJ finally got all the couples up and dancing together....Gordon and Shannon.
Jason and Anna....see Jason, you weren't in EVERY picture I took!
Susan and Jeff...hey this is actually the first picture I've taken of you guys...usually it's Zack and Savannah!
I know these ladies put a lot of work into getting ready for Sally and Zac's big day but they did a fabulous job! They were ready to rest and kick their feet up!
Zac and his brother Todd signing some karaoke before we left for the night.
Sally and Zac, we had a wonderful time at your wedding. Thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of such a special time in your life! I can definitely say that Dr. Crumpton has a great group of women working for him at his office and I know I am very blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of all of your lives! I hope that you two have a great honeymoon and enjoy being newlyweds!!!!!!

Jenny & Bruce

Jenny & Bruce are from Ohio and decided to have a destination wedding in Greenville, SC. She had a very hard time trying to find a church in downtown Greenville to have the ceremony....most all the church required you being a member or the immediate family of a member. However, she finally found Holy Trinity Anglican Church on Buncombe St. and I don't think she could have picked a better place. I loved the little stone church and after stepping inside it's doors you felt like you were in a different world.
Jenny's dress was gorgeous...and her shoes, well I don't think I could walk in them!
Jenny's grandmother couldn't make it to the wedding but she was definitely there in spirit. Jenny wore her jewelry and carried her handkerchief. It's those sentimental details that I love at weddings! This was a first for me....I've never seen a crocheting needle used to button up a dress, but I have to admit...it worked great!
The girls...making sure the veil is in place!
Bruce...finally getting to see his bride!
I think this is my favorite shot from their day....the dark wood in the ceiling of the church was so beautiful.....and I had to use it to my advantage. Jenny's parents during the ceremony.
Finally...they get to kiss.
Now, you can see from this picture why Jenny had such high shoes!!! She, like me, is a little vertically challenged while Bruce isn't at all!

I didn't notice while I was shooting this picture, but you can see one of the circular stained glass windows at the front of the church in this shot. And while I was taking this shot.......my favorite of Marty's.....I loved the light coming through the windows. Probably my second favorite of the day....
Then it was off to Wyche Pavilion behind Larkin's on the River for the reception. The centerpieces were beautiful.....
and the cake too!
The rings...
Bruce's brother gave a great speech...
...Bruce and Jennifer laughed as they listened.
Now, for their first dance, Jenny used a stool made by her grandfather. Even the pigeons were watching the first dance!
Jenny and her dad.
Now, I have to give one piece of advice....when you are in a wedding....whatever you do, don't play wiffle ball the day of the wedding...it can result in injury. If you don't believe me, just ask this groomsman!!!!
During the reception the sun was setting.
I must say we have never had anyone crash a wedding....Sunday was a first for us. These women had been eating dinner across the river, heard the music and decided to come check it out. They were standing in the corner of the pavilion, but the guys thought they needed to join in on the dancing!
I think everyone had a great time!
I had to get Bruce and Jenny away once more for a few more pics of them alone. The downtown area is so amazing....we had to take advantage of it.
It may have started to get dark, but things were still going on inside! Our first double-decker at the garter toss!
Umm...not sure what bouquet she was trying to catch! LOL!The guys were hilarious and enjoyed cutting up the entire night...I had a blast watching them!
The band kept everyone dancing. Finally Jenny and her grandfather danced together.
Then one more with her new hubby!
Now, as I said earlier, these two were from Ohio and so were most of the guests and wedding party. They got all the Ohio State Alumni together for a picture to spell out Ohio! Don't ask me how you decide who gets to be which letter...I don't have a clue!!!!
Jenny and Bruce...we had a great time Sunday! I hope you two are enjoying your honeymoon and have a safe trip back home to Ohio!
