Katie & Will

When I was little, my family and I would always go eat at Walnut Grove Fishcamp. I always wanted to go to the Plantation, but it was usually closed by the time we were done eating. Well, Saturday I finally got to visit Walnut Grove Plantation for the first time. It was the perfect setting for Katie and Will's intimate ceremony.
Even though the house could use a little bit of paint and repair, I absolutely loved the rustic feeling of the whole place. Here's a shot of the house before the guests started arriving.

Katie's simple but elegant dress. It was perfect!
The ceremony was held in the back of the property surrounded by barns.

Will is the little brother of one of my best friends, Shannon. I feel a little old seeing him all grown up and getting married. I remember the days when he would be running around the house with no shirt on and missing teeth. Here's Shannon, Will, and their other brother Eric being goofy.

After the ceremony Katie and Will gave me some time to get many shots of the two of them. I love it when you have plenty of time to get great pictures and take advantage of a great location!!!! I have so many favorites...

Okay, now one of Katie by herself.
Their cute and unique cake!
A close up of their cake topper. Her friend and bridesmaid, Nadia made it herself.
Here's Lilly who was running around at the reception. She's so cute!
Jodi laid a kiss on Eric - he looks real happy huh?? Too funny.
One last shot of the reception before we left for the evening.
Congratulations Katie & Will - everything was perfect!! And I will definitely let you know if your record for the quickest ceremony ever is broken!!!

Joye & Josh's Reception

After getting married at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa last month, Joye & Josh celebrated with their wedding reception last night. The reception was held in the ballroom at the USC Upstate Campus Life Center. As guests came in, they were able to view pictures from the wedding on a slideshow being shown on three different screens in the room. Spartan Bakery did a great job with the wedding cake!A shot of their beautiful rings. Before a lot of guests arrived and before Joye changed out of her dress, I took her and Josh outside on the balcony for a few shots of them alone.Although we had to stop for a few phone calls for Josh to give directions on how to get there, we got some great shots. This one is my favorite. The kids there had a great time running around and dancing to the music.I couldn't resist this shot...there's just something about it I love.We kept trying to get Kylie to have her picture made with Josh. This was about as close as we got!During the reception Joye and Josh played the DVD of their wedding. It was great to be able to watch the ceremony since we couldn't be there. The kids laid on the floor in front of the big screen to watch it. K&K Music & Entertainment did a great job as the DJ last night. I think everyone had a great time dancing!I have to admit, this is the first reception we've covered that had karaoke set up. It was a blast watching some of the men try to sing!!!! They needed a little help to get them going.Others didn't need any help at all!I think I was getting tired just watching everyone dance!Toward the end of the night we got Joye and her sisters together for a shot of all four of them - I've learned it's not too often they are all together in the same place at one time. Over the past two years I have gotten to know these four ladies and I can't say a bad thing about them. I love working with them and hope that I have the opportunity to continue to do so in the future!I have to say that I saved my most favorite shot for last. Anyone that knows Kylie is well aware of the fact she can be a little shy at first. But once she warms up to you she loves playing around. I would take a shot of her, let her see it and she would want me to "do it again". We did this a couple of times. I love this shot of her.

Thanks to Joye & Josh for allowing us to be a part of their special evening. We had a great time! I just have one request for Joye - next time, make sure air conditioning is included!!!!

Kerrie & Jerry

Saturday Marty and I went to Spartanburg for Kerrie and Jerry's wedding. Kerrie and I met while taking a basic photography course together and have kept in contact since then! I was really excited when she asked me to shoot her wedding. Although the temperature was close to 100 degrees on Saturday, the weather was beautiful! Here's a shot of the church before Kerrie and her girls got there. A quick shot of her shoes....
Jerry's dad helping him straighten his tie before the ceremony.
And here they are....Jerry finally gets to see how stunning Kerrie looked!
After the ceremony I got the newly wed couple alone for a few portraits together.
I loved the windows in the church.
Kerrie and Jerry sharing their first dance.
And of course a few of the groomsmen had to share a dance too!
The cake was beautiful and once I had a chance to sit down and take a quick bite I found out that it tasted just as good as it looked!
I thought their glasses were cute! A shot of their beautiful rings with some of the flowers! I love the calla lilies!!!!
Kerrie had custom printed M&Ms for their favors. What woman doesn't love chocolate!!! I wish I would have had this at my wedding! What more helpful, but a money tree to help with the honeymoon!!!!
Okay, so I had to be prepared for not one, but two surprises that Jerry had up his sleeve and Kerrie has the best expressions on her face for both of them! The first was when Jerry was removing the garter from her leg...with her dad hovering over, Jerry pulls out a chastity belt!

Then it was time for the couple to get away and get the honeymoon started. Kerrie was walking out to Jerry's truck only to be greeted by a sweet, shiny black corvette. Boy was she surprised! Jerry had arranged for them to leave their reception in a ride that Kerrie knew nothing about! The wedding was beautiful and I think everyone had a great time! I hope these two are enjoying themselves on their honeymoon!!!!
