Saturday kicked off a double-header weekend for us and April and Joe's intimate wedding was the perfect start to it. The wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Davenport in downtown Greer. The day was perfect and I think April was a little excited! She got dressed at her parents church just up the street....I love the light coming in from these doors on her dress, which looked so perfect on her!April's mom helped her get in her dress....with that smile still on April's face.
I wasn't the only one getting shots of the beautiful bride! After the veil...a kiss from mom and April was ready to go!
We had some time to spare so we decided to take a few shots of April by herself...the light at the Davenport was just as good!!!!
Finally it was time for the ceremony to begin.
April's son and Joe's daughters helped in the lighting of the unity candle. I think this has got to be the biggest flame ever from a unity candle!
The happy couple!
Now all throughout the service Truman was very emotional. As soon as he got outside April had a chance to ask him why he was crying. His response....he was happy.
While the guests were being served their food, I managed to get the bride and groom away from everyone for a little alone time. April warned me that they weren't photogenic people....I have to disagree....sorry April!
I love, love, love the wall outside the Davenport building. Then it was back inside to spend some time with their family and friends.
The kids gathered around for a family hug!
With Truman being a little silly.
Their first dance...the chandeliers are amazing.
Now, I must say this is the first wedding I have been to that the wedding cake was baked by the groom himself. It seems that for their first date Joe baked April a cheesecake....not just any cheesecake, but an old family recipe. I only have 2 complaints....#1 there wasn't enough of it and #2 I don't have the recipe! It was the best cheesecake I have ever tasted! Great job Joe!
The rings.....the amazingly beautiful rings!
This was also the first wedding where the sister of the bride was the matron of honor along with the decorater, the florist AND the caterer! Kelly...you are a very brave woman!!!!! You did a great job with everything! But I must say....there's is no way on Earth I would have even attempted to do everything she did!!!!!
I know she had to be completely exhausted but I finally saw her having a good time at the reception and even caught a smile on her face!!!!! I know Todd is glad Saturday is finally over!!!
I think Joe wins the award for my most expressive garter toss!
I always love watching the little ones go for the bouquet!
This one enjoyed dancing with it for the longest time!
And Truman rocked the night away.
Finally I was able to get the newlyweds outside yet again for a little fun with the camera again.
I think they could have stayed this way for hours if I hadn't been around!
I think this is definitely one of my favorites of the day....... April and Joe...thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day! I thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with you two, your family and your friends. I hope that you two never lose those smiles that were on your faces Saturday!
