So, Sunday was a LONG day along with my shortest stay at the beach EVER! Marty and I along with Leslie and Melissa travelled to Huntington Beach State Park in Murrell's Inlet for Leslie's bridal portrait session. I have to say I was super excited to have a gorgeous bride in an awesome location. This oceanfront state park offers camping, fishing, coastal hiking trails and general access to three miles of remote, unspoiled beach. Huntington Beach State Park is also the site of the Spanish-style castle Atalaya, former winter home and studio of noted American sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington, which you can read more about here. It is said that Huntington Beach offers its visitors the best preserved beach on the Grand Strand.
I must say that after my brief visit to the state park, I will definitely be going back. We only spent a short time in the castle because it closes at 5pm daily. The next time I'm on the SC coast I will be headed to explore more of Atalaya.
We got a ton of amazing shots - I so wish I could post them on here, but I can't until after their wedding day in April. Here's the only sneak peek you get - sorry!!!!Leslie - thank you so much for going for something different and out of the ordinary - and allowing me the freedom to be creative. Also, for trusting me those times when I said "I know you think it looks stupid, but trust me!" I promise to have your proofs online soon - I'm so excited for you to see them!!!! I hope you and Melissa both got some much needed rest after our day long road trip!!!!
